Update May 2024: In November 2023, the City Council added $375k to the Trestle Rehabilitation Project. Here was the update from the City of Petaluma at that time:“We are currently focusing our energy on moving forward expeditiously with project design and permitting. Fortunately, we were able to secure money in our current fiscal year’s budget to begin the design process. Additionally, we continue to recruit and hire new staff to augment our resources for this and the other 100+ important capital projects throughout the City.”
As of May 2024, no project design consultants have been hired. The 2024-25 Proposed Budget was released with $0 of activity shown for the Trestle. The City Council directed the City to move forward on the project. The City amended the budget.
“The Trestle Rehabilitation project budget [for 2024-25] has been updated to include $675,000 for design in FY 24/25. Funding for this project phase is transferred from unspent appropriations in the HVAC & Energy Efficiency Upgrades Project.”
